| The San Diego Democratic Women’s Club Congratulates Ms. Charla Wilson 2007 Verna King Student Scholarship Award Winner CHARLA WILSON Charla Wilson is senior at Eastlake High School in Chula Vista. Charla is an active member of her community. She serves as the Sweetwater Union High SchoolDistrict Board student representative where she acts as the voice of the district's 37,200 students. She is also active with Youth & Government, a nation wide program that develops leaders and helps them engage in the political process. Outside of school, Charla volunteers at her church, St. Stephen's Cathedral COGIC, as a Children's Church helper. In the fall, Charla will attend Scripps College in Los Angeles and study to become an elementary school teacher. Charla Wilson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Burlenda Wilson. The Verna King Student Scholarship is offered annually by the San Diego Democratic Women’s Club and the San Diego County Democratic Party Central Committee. |
